Hi. This is my blog now... I am excited to have my own website. This will be my place to think aloud because I cannot really do that on BlueSky and it also makes me very uncomfortable to do so. Now I can do it here in my bubble where no demons can get me because everyone is making the informed choice to view my website.
I don't really know if my blog posts will follow some specific format. I kind of just want to think. I'll talk a little about the things I've been liking and thinking about lately.
SFW: I've been thinking about Onyanko Club a lot lately. For the uninformed, Onyanko Club is this 1980's JPOP girl group made by Akimoto Yasushi (same guy who made AKB48). They were very short lived because of scandal and such, but the things they did create were wonderful! Lots of good soloists came from the group. Specifically, I'm thinking a lot about Minayo Watanabe. She was quite popular. Her solo music and her as a person during her time in Onyanko Club capture an aesthetic that I really like. Cute, and silly, and mischievous. Her outfits are always quite cute and her voice is very clear and cute. Aki-P has said in interviews that Minayo was meant to be an idol, so I kind of think of her as the Mayu Watanabe of Onyanko Club (shared last name, waow!). 80s idols all kind of have this heavy air of playfulness to them. I'd like to sing this at karaoke one day. I really like karaoke... I really miss Onyanko Club despite them having formed and disbanded before I was even born, but it's not fair... I'll be sure to incorporate some of this aesthetic into my photobook....
NSFW: Lately I have been enjoying the art of a long gone artist on the early internet. Marimo Bonten. I don't really want to link you their art (because for some reason talking about it is fine but linking it is twisted. I don't know...), but you may google them on the internet and find a e-hentai.org link. Very nice archive... They draw these really interesting sphynx characters. When I found their art (like a week ago) I felt so so pumped up and excited!! I was so joyous! Their art is what I want to channel in my own NSFW work. It has that very 1990s RPG-y Gainax Princess Maker 2 feeling.
I don't remember how I found it. I think I was just browsing R34 and stumbled across it. R34 doesn't host a lot of their stuff though, and their website is long gone, but my BFF Wayback Machine allowed me to view their website. And wow, there is so much to be seen! Most of it can be viewed on the e-hentai page, but there was a lot of description and story to be viewed (translated). I really like it all. I don't really know how to use words around this time (11:40PM). But one piece I really like: of a little angel interacting with a Vicious Scary Beast!! EGAD!!!
Lately I think it'd be nice to just be a wonderful pure creature and get treated bad. I watched 1001 Nights with a friend and I felt very joyous seeing the little fairies. Gwah.... That's it for my NSFW thoughts right now. And all of my thoughts, also. For now!
